With bloodshot eyes
I walk towards the last upslope
End of today’s misery
Prelude to tomorrow’s sorrow
Anger glimmers
Incandescent gloom
Power rules
Indifferent crew
Ils m’arrachèrent mon dernier espoir
Lieu sans espoir
Usine froide
I stare straight into the sun
In sheer desperation
Put thousands together
Less bad
But the cage less gay
Towering is the last upslope
I must endeavor to conquer this all
What do I get?
Am I always on my own?
Deus meus rationis et permotionis esse debeo alioquin rex sapientiae nullus me in servitutem rediget iterum atque iterum...
Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
An outstanding beast of an album! After testing the waters with Ἡ εἰκών, delivering more of that on the twice as long Ψευδομένη, J.L. seemingly decided to make Τρωθησομένη at least twice as aggressive. The atmosphere its predecessor had has been cut and replaced by riff after riff after riff. Riffs of all sorts, as should be noted: punky, pumping, sick, and grooving. It's like getting clapped by a frenzied maniac for 40 minutes straight. One of the wildest albums I've heard in a while! David Fischer
Breathless firehose of everything angular, urgent & relentless on offer since somebody put the word black into music. A m a z I n g! Mcgilroy the Housefly
Firstly, I will never tell what I saw on that cover art at first glance. Secondly, Ἀντιτιμωρουμένη brings even more dissonant and caustic sounds to the table than Τρωθησομένη, making it less immediate and therefore more challenging. But starting with track 4, something collapses, this album plunges into complete and utter disarray and will not stop for a second to haphazardly assault you for the remaining 30 minutes of its runtime. Breathtaking? Yes. Suffocating? Yes. Great? Absolutely. David Fischer
